Inclusive Sport Workshop at Eastfield 

Eastfield Academy recently hosted an Inclusive Sport Workshop organised by DRET Sport Team, promoting the idea that sport is for everyone. The event aimed to engage pupils in a variety of fun, interactive activities, showing that all children can participate, enjoy, and benefit from sport.

The workshop featured two exciting sports—Boccia and Goalball—designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all. Students had the opportunity to try Boccia, a precision-based game where players roll balls towards a target, encouraging strategy and teamwork. They also experienced Goalball, a fast-paced team sport where players rely on sound to track the ball, fostering communication and coordination.

Throughout the day, students participated in a range of activities that emphasized the importance of inclusivity, teamwork, and fun. The workshop encouraged everyone to join in, build new skills, and enjoy the benefits of physical activity, regardless of experience or ability.

At the end of the session, all participants received certificates of achievement, celebrating their effort, teamwork, and enthusiasm. The event was a great success, highlighting that sport truly is for everyone and helping to create an environment where all students can feel confident and inspired to play.
